Park Entrance - April 8th 2016
Friday was a wonderful day to take pictures in the park. The sky and spring growth made it easy to get good shots.
While driving down the road to the office, there was a disturbing sight. Along the left side of the road the mountain laurel was badly burned. A recent 'controlled burn' appears to have destroyed the laurel on that hillside. A few years ago the same hillside was trimmed without mercy. The burn looks to have taken out what was left. I didn't get any pictures of the burned hillside on the trip last Friday. I'll try to get back there soon, park the car and take the walk up the road. Anyone expecting to visit the park this year and enjoy the mountain laurel blooming along that stretch of road will be disappointed.
I've uploaded a few pictures from Friday's visit to my new SmugMug site. Pictures from my Infobucket site, even the really bad ones, can now be found at SmugMug. I'm trying to store them in a logical folders or dump them into "More" folders.
